Large-scale Datasets: Faces with Partial Occlusions and Pose Variations in the Wild

چکیده
Face detection methods have relied on face datasets for training. However, existing face datasets tend to be in small scales for face learning in both constrained and unconstrained environments. In this paper, we first introduce our large-scale image datasets, Large-scale Labeled Face (LSLF) and noisy Large-scale Labeled Non-face (LSLNF). Our LSLF dataset consists of a large number of unconstrained multi-view and partially occluded faces. The faces have many variations in color and grayscale, image quality, image resolution, image illumination, image background, image illusion, human face, cartoon face, facial expression, light and severe partial facial occlusion, make up, gender, age, and race. Many of these faces are partially occluded with accessories such as tattoos, hats, glasses, sunglasses, hands, hair, beards, scarves, microphones, or other objects or persons. The LSLF dataset is currently the largest labeled face image dataset in the literature in terms of the number of labeled images and the number of individuals compared to other existing labeled face image datasets. Second, we introduce our CrowedFaces and CrowedNonFaces image datasets. The crowedFaces and CrowedNonFaces datasets include faces and non-faces images from crowed scenes. These datasets essentially aim for researchers to provide a large number of training examples with many variations for large scale face learning and face recognition tasks.

Face Alignment Robust to Pose, Expressions and Occlusions
We propose an Ensemble of Robust Constrained Local Models for alignment of faces in the presence of significant occlusions and of any unknown pose and expression. To account for partial occlusions we introduce, Robust Constrained Local Models, that comprises of a deformable shape and local landmark appearance model and reasons over binary occlusion labels. Our occlusion reasoning proceeds by a ...
متن کاملRecognizing Faces under Facial Expression Variations and Partial Occlusions
Recognizing faces under facial expression variations and partial occlusions is presented in this paper. PCAand LDA-based approaches with the combination of the preprocessing techniques of histogram equalization and mean-and-variance normalization are used in order to reduce the effect of partial occlusions, facial expressions and illumination variations. Various distance measures are applied fo...
متن کامل3D Face Recognition Using Geodesic Facial Curves to Handle Expression, Occlusion and Pose Variations
this paper illustrates the use of radial facial curves on 3D meshes to mode facial deformation caused by expression, occlusion and variation in poses and to recognize faces despite large expression, in presence of occlusion and pose variations. Here we represent facial surface by indexed collection of radial geodesic curves on 3D face meshes emanating from nose tip to the boundary of mesh and c...
متن کاملPsychophysically Inspired Bayesian Occlusion Model to Recognize Occluded Faces
Face recognition systems robust to major occlusions have wide applications ranging from consumer products with biometric features to surveillance and law enforcement applications. In unconstrained scenarios, faces are often subject to occlusions, apart from common variations such as pose, illumination, scale, orientation and so on. In this paper we propose a novel Bayesian oriented occlusion mo...
متن کاملUnconstrained Face Detection
Face detection, as the first step in automatic facial analysis, has been well studied over the past two decades. However, challenges still remain for face detection in unconstrained scenarios, such as arbitrary pose variations and occlusions. In this paper, we propose a method to address these challenges in unconstrained face detection. First, a new type of image feature, called Normalized Pixe...
